Heads up for this Saturday. More details to follow but usual 7:30 am start....
Team Jenson rider Daniel Perez had a great showing this weekend at the 5th round of the National Mountain Bike Cross-Country series. Races were at Sugar Mountain resort in Banner Elk, North Carolina. The course had the most technical descents seen on the whole NMBS circuit - you had to ride them really cautiously. The course was super technical..muddy, roots, slick rocks. This is something we don't see much of here in So Cal. Daniel pounded it out and made podium with an Expert Class 4th place finish. Fantastic work, Daniel! This puts Daniel in a multi way tie for 25th ranking in Expert Men's Cross Country in the Nation. He is currently ranked 2nd in California in 30-34 Expert class.
Jenson USA is pleased to bring "KLUNKERZ", the new MTB film from producer Billy Savage, to the Inland Empire for the first time. Klunkerz is a fascinating look at the history of MTB and features a cast that's full of industry pioneers - Gary Fisher, Joe Breeze, Tom Ritchey, and more.
Please join us on Friday, August 24th at 7:30PM for a free screening at Jenson USA in Corona, California. You'll also have the opportunity to meet producer Billy Savage. Our new store is centrally located to Orange County and the Inland Empire, just off the 91 Freeway at Serfas Club Drive.
The positive press for KLUNKERZ is beginning to roll in...
"... What promises to make Klunkerz a very special film is the fact that Billy was able to assemble a cast that's chock full of legendary Marin pioneers: Joe Breeze, Gary Fisher, Alan Bonds, Charlie Kelly, Tom Ritchey, Russ Mahon, Bob Burrows, Wende Cragg... It will be very interesting to hear what these folks have to say..."

3rd - Rod Leveque
What a day for Team Jenson USA!
Four of the team’s riders made the podium at round 6 of the SoCal State series cross country race at the Rim Nordic ski area in Running Springs, Calif.
Leading the way were Zach Patterson, who took 1st place in the Junior Expert Men category, and Mark Mumea, who won the Sport Men 30-34 group. Mark burned-up the course, beating his closest rival by three minutes.
Daniel Perez finished 2nd in the Expert Men 30-34 group, and Rod Leveque placed right behind in 3rd after chasing Daniel across three laps of the 8.3 mile loop. Rod was thrilled to make the podium in his first race as an expert.
Dean Long just missed taking home a medal, coming in 6th in the Sport Men 35-39 class. Dean finished strong despite painfully banging his knee on his stem shortly after the start. Dean’s shown remarkable improvement this year.
Thomas Stockton earned 5th place in the Beginner Men 30-34 group and also came up with a big save for another rider. That happened after the start of the sport race, when Chris from team Geoladders limped into the pits with a faulty seatpost. After both Rod and Chris couldn’t come up with the right tools for a quick fix, Thomas who had already finished his race yanked the post and seat from his own bike and loaned it to Chris so he could get back on course. That’s the type of camaraderie that makes these races great!
The Rim Nordic course was tricky as always with its loose and rocky singletracks. The organizers did a great job laying out a challenging loop that featured wicked climbs and thrilling descents.
Look for Team Jenson at the races again at round 3 of the Rim Nordic series on Aug. 5.
Come on out and join us this week in Corona. We start the ride out of the Jenson Corona store and hit the Skyline Trail. Skyline to Beeks to BlackStar and back. Ride time will be 3-4 hours and a lot of fun. This is a climbing ride so come energized and prepared. The weather will be warm on Saturday so we have changed the start time to 7:30am. Come with plenty of fluids and nutrition.
Ride starts at 7:30am. Please be prompt. Be self sufficient with your own water, nutrition and spare tube/tools. Helmets are required.
Directions:
Exit the 91 fwy at Serfas Club Dr. Go North to Wardlow Rd. Turn right and right again into parking lot. Look for Jenson USA store and the Ride signs.
