Jenson Ride 9/1

Ok, here it is. A rider for all you climbers. Lets do Indian Truck trail out of Corona. The ride is 21 miles long with 10 miles of climbing up 4200 feet and then down 6 miles or so of singletrack and back to the home base. The ride will take with re-grouping 3.5 hours. It has fat fireroads and singletrack and one mile of a 1,300 foot decent. I would rate the ride moderate and for riders that have experience in the climbing arena. Downhill skills are mpt needed but the steepest section can be done slowly and surely. This is a classic ride.

Directions to follow...7:30am start time.

Team Jenson are Champs!

Jenson USA team riders Daniel Perez and Zach Patterson were crowned champions of their classes on Aug. 26 at the final round of the Rim Nordic cross country race series in Running Springs, Calif.

Daniel topped the podium in the expert men 30-34 group, and youngster Zach ran away with the junior expert men 18 and under title.

Mark Mumea took second overall in the sport men 30-34 group, and Rod Leveque earned fifth in expert men 30-34.

For their successes in the series, all four received beautiful engraved wooden picture frames from the race organizers. Daniel and Zach also took home celebratory bottles of sparkling cider with a custom Rim Nordic label affixed.

The champions were crowned after the fourth and final race in the series, which took place earlier that day under the threat of rain.

Zach won his race, as did Daniel. It was an especially impressive win for Daniel, who battled a cold the whole week. Rod finished in second, not far behind Daniel, after running across the finish line with a busted drivetrain.

Mark finished fifth, and "Hurricane" Dean Long finished 13th in sport men 35-39 after overcoming a pair of flat tires.

Thanks to the Rim Nordic race organizers for putting on another great series.

Be sure to say hi to Team Jenson at the annual parking lot sale on Sept. 8, or back out at the races Sept. 9 as they close out the SoCal State Series in Big Bear.Rnoveralls

Sat Ride

Isn't this just like So Cal riding in summer. "It just burned there. Can we ride it? " We had a concerned rider contact us alerting to a recent fire in the Turnball area. Alan contacted the Fire Dept. and they gave the A-O-Kay and trails are open.  Thanks for that heads up.

See you Saturday.

ps.  I was talking to a rider from Maine the other day and he said he heard that we had dust. Dust that obscured the trail when you ride behind. Dust!? I said I heard the he had greenthings growing out of the ground. Wasn't sure what that was......

Route change for Saturday ride

Here is a change to the previously posted ride listing. This Saturday, Augustst 18, we will be riding at Powder Canyon. A little more local, a little more forgiving with the heat. 7:30 start time.

Jenson USA will ride again. This Saturday the ride will be an old favorite right in our backyard. Head over to Powder Canyon and find some great single track. And with the weather kind of sketchy, the trails should be nice and tacky. Plan on a 2-3 hour ride of moderate level climbs. This is a good place to see what condition you are in.

We are going to start rating the rides so you can know how to prepare. Some rides of late have been quite epic and we want everyone to know how many miles to expect in a ride.

We ask is that you come on a trail-ready bike in good operating condition. § Ride starts at 7:30 am. Please be prompt. § Be self-sufficient with your own water, nutrition and spare tube/tools. § Helmets are required.

Directions: From Los Angeles, take the 10 Freeway east, and then the Pomona Freeway (60) east. Exit at Fullerton Road. Turn right onto Old Fullerton Road. The park is located at 2485 Old Fullerton Road. Look for the RIDE signs and enter the park road. Limited parking is available.
