Team Jenson USA flyin' at Southridge
It may only be February, but the Jenson USA race team is already showing flashes of mid-season form. Two team members won their categories, and three others were among the fastest in their classes on Feb. 9 at round three of the Southridge Racing Club's Shimano Winter Series in Fontana, Calif.
Rod Leveque had the fastest time for all cross country experts en route to 1st place in the men's 27-34 division. The win was Rod's second in a row at Southridge. Teammate Mark Mumea was only two spots behind him in 3rd place. Dean Long took 2nd in a deep Sport Men 35-44 class. He set a personal best time on the twisty, sandy course and claimed the second-fastest time among all sport class racers. Timothy Pickett finished 5th in a crazy-fast Expert Men 35-44 group.
The newest addition to the team, Andrew Hart, proved to be a legitimate double-threat during his first day in a Jenson jersey. Andrew finished in 1st place in the clydesdale group during the cross country race, and followed up with another win in the beginner men's Super D race a few hours later.
Round four of the Winter Series is Feb. 23. Come on out and see us. The Jenson USA retail store in Ontario is only a few miles from Southridge. Be sure to stop by and see us for all your racing and riding needs.
